Web Design

We specialize in results-driven website design that works.

Effective Web Design

Our web design doesn’t just look good; it works! A pretty website is great, but if it fails to help grow your small business, it’s an expense rather than an investment.

When it comes to effective web design, we consider the complete user experience, from colours, fonts and images to more technical things like responsive design that looks good on any device or browser.

Strategic calls to action, easy-to-find contact information and navigation aren’t an afterthought. We carefully plan our website design to incorporate elements that improve user experience.

Website Design Process

To efficiently manage our projects, we’ve built a website design process to track the tasks involved in every website we create. In addition, our software and processes keep us on track to continually provide quality design and service to our clients. Below are a few of the parent tasks required for every website project.

Industry Research

We begin by researching your industry and trends, answering the questions, "What is current in your industry and what will set your business apart?" This will help us determine a colour palette and structure for the website.

Website Mockup

Then we create a website mock-up with colours, fonts, elements, images and an attractive layout with a user interface that is easy to use. The goal is to grab attention and provide pertinent information the customer is looking for.

Domain & Hosting Setup

A domain is your home on the internet, so choosing it can be exciting. First, we provide a list of recommended domains, and you choose your favourites. Then, we acquire the domain(s) and set up secure web hosting.

Responsive Web Design

What is responsive web design? Mobile-friendly or responsive website design is building a website with a layout that automatically adjusts to viewing device. This means it looks great on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

Client Feedback

Once the website draft is completed, we send a login to the client for viewing and feedback. They compile a list of changes, and we make the requested changes to the website and send it back to the client for approval.

Website Goes Public

We make the final touches and test the website to ensure everything works correctly. Once we get the go-ahead from the client, the new website is made public, and we submit it to search engines for indexing.

Web Design Services

Website Redesign

Like houses need renovations over time, a website ages too. With advancements in technology, features, security, and business growth, having a cutting-edge website is essential to compete online. We’ve helped many businesses with a second, third and even fourth version of their website!

eCommerce Website Design

Get your products online and increase sales with a professional e-commerce website design. Sell digital and physical products locally, nationally or globally and reach customers who would never have heard of your business.

Website Maintenance

Websites are much like software on your computer. From time to time, there are updates to improve security and stability and add new and improved features. With our website maintenance packages, you can have a stable and secure website.

Web Hosting

Every website needs web hosting, so we set up our fast, secure web hosting service for every website we develop. Unsatisfied with your existing web hosting provider? We also provide website migration services to transfer your website to our servers.

Website Elements

There are always website elements clients ask for when we build their websites, so we decided to compile a list of the most common website components. Click on a category tab below to learn more about it. Are we missing a design idea that you are interested in? Let us know.

Advertising Platform

Website Banner Ads

Integrate advertising platform into your website. These banner ads are a great way to generate income if you have a blog, news or informational website. The banner ads come in various sizes and shapes and generate income through a pay-per-click, monthly subscription, or an affiliate model. In addition, the detailed statistics will help you to set advertising prices and sell advertising space to customers.

By subscribing to a third-party affiliate platform, like Google AdsenseAmazon or countless others, you can put banners on your website to showcase third-party products that may interest your website visitors. Then, if they click the ad and buy the product on the affiliate website, you collect commissions.

Affiliate Marketing Platform

An affiliate platform, also known as affiliate marketing, is a great way to sell more products on your website. Like an ad platform, an affiliate marketing platform will allow other users to sign up and put ad banners on their website to sell your products. Each banner click on their website redirects the person to your website. The affiliate platform tracks and generates a commission when that person purchases a product on your website.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to get your products in front of a new audience by having people who already love your products promote your products. Consider affiliate marketing to generate more income for your business.

Landing Page Design

A landing page is usually a single-page website used for a specific purpose. Sometimes a complete, multi-page website isn’t needed. Landing pages offer an alternative to an entire website and can be very effective depending on the end goal.

Businesses can use a single landing webpage combined with a targeted pay-per-click advertising campaign to generate leads. Used as a detailed sales page with testimonials and buy now buttons, entrepreneurs can use it to sell a hot new product. It’s also a great way to create a marketing buzz and build an email list for something special that is coming soon.

Social Media Integration

Social media has become a necessity for many small businesses. It helps companies with small marketing budgets reach potential customers that weren’t possible in the past. Depending on the small business, social media can be an online presence for some and an effective business growth strategy for others. Integrating your social media page or pages into your website is another excellent way to help build your social media following.

Update your website automatically with news, updates, and even your latest projects by having your social media pages sync automatically with your website. Popular platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube will sync. Choose what you want to display: written posts, photos, albums, videos, or links. You can even filter posts by hashtag and sync only specific selected posts.

What is social proof marketing?

Social proof marketing is based on normative social influence; marketing uses the psychology of “group-buy” as a way to influence consumers. In other words, we are more likely to buy something when we see that others are considering or have recently purchased the item. A crowd always draws a crowd.

There are many ways in which businesses can use social proof marketing online. User reviews of your business, products or services are a great way to influence others to consider becoming customers. Reviews with user photos and videos are much more powerful than written reviews. Posting logos of the companies and brands you have worked with can show credibility. Another powerful social proof marketing tool is a small slide-in from the bottom corner of your e-commerce store, letting the potential customer know that someone just purchased the exact product they are considering.

If you want to implement social proof marketing on your website, check out our online reviews and contact us. We’d be happy to help you reach more customers online.

Website Popups

A modal popup is a smaller website window that opens automatically or results from taking action on a website. Popups are used for many different things from email newsletter forms to calls-to-action (exit-intent) to stop people from leaving a website. They can be informational, such as a holiday notice or address change, or promotional, like a discount or coupon code.

A modal popup can feature videos, images, text, forms, and e-commerce products and are styled similar to the website they are on. We can set up popups to trigger by clicking a button or link, loading a page, scrolling down a page, by a timer, or when a visitor intends to leave the website. However, improper use of popups can annoy the website visitor and negatively affect user experience and your search rank on Google.

Online Customer Reviews

Online reviews are an effective way to build trust and confidence in your website visitors. For example, many seek their peers when looking for a new mechanic or dentist. It’s human nature to trust people who have been recommended by someone we trust. It’s a form of social proof marketing. Google also recognizes this and has included customer reviews as a ranking factor in its algorithm.

Online reviews can be entered manually on a website, but they are more effective when embedded from the source. For example, embedding online reviews directly from Facebook, Google, Yelp, etc., will help your website rank higher on Google. If you are concerned that a negative review may end up in the mix, don’t worry. There are ways of displaying only the best customer reviews on your website.

Chatbot Integration

Live chat lets you connect with visitors in real-time, while chatbots step in when a human isn’t available—ensuring you never miss a potential customer. These tools help small businesses engage visitors, answer questions, and capture leads instantly.

Live chat integration can increase conversions, improve customer satisfaction, and streamline support, reducing workload while keeping customers engaged.

We use live chat on our own website, and it’s been a game-changer for generating leads, increasing sales, and supporting our clients.

Animation

Animation in Website Design

Animation is a great feature to add to any website as it helps grab the website visitor’s attention to a specific piece of content. Used to introduce a section, a heading, an image or almost anything on a page, it works perfectly to engage the user. In addition, using layered images, as in a parallax, can give a modern 3D effect to content.

We can activate animation as the user loads the page, scrolls down the page or takes action on something through a mouse click or hover.

Before and After Image Slider

The before and after slider is a powerful website feature that showcases visual transformations. With a simple slide mechanism, it allows users to compare the “before” and “after” versions of a project, highlighting the impact of your services. This interactive tool engages visitors, creating a memorable and persuasive experience. Whether you’re an interior designer, landscaper, or any business showcasing transformations, the before and after slider enhances your website’s credibility, increases user engagement, and drives conversions. We are even using one on our website. See it in action here.

Company History Timeline

Most small businesses have a story to share, coming from humble beginnings. Often this story is shared on the company’s website about page. If your business has a story worth sharing, a timeline can be a creative way to tell your story. Use images, dates and details to describe each era on your business’ historical timeline. A timeline can have vertical or horizontal layouts, with or without scrolling. It’s a great conversational piece that brings a personal level to customers. Add a chronological timeline to your business story to produce credibility and inspire trust in your potential customers.

Website Photo Gallery

A photo gallery is a great way to showcase your work, previous projects, events, products, business, and staff. Websites with photo galleries boost engagement and on-site time.

A website photo gallery can come in many different layouts, such as a standard grid, masonry, slides, photo carousel, and even animated 3D galleries. In addition, we can set photos to open in a lightbox or on a separate page. The gallery photos can even have titles, captions and descriptions.

Website Video

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. If that is true, a video is worth a thousand pictures. Video tells a story in a way that photos never could. Video encompasses sight and sound, which allows the viewer to better process the emotion, tone and intention of your company, products and services.

Video can be hosted directly on your website or embedded from a third-party platform like YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook or others. For example, videos embedded from YouTube, which Google owns, tend to help a website rank better in search results.

Multi Language

With literally 7000+ languages globally, selling your products to an international market is quite the undertaking. Canada is a bilingual and multicultural nation with people from all over the globe, making Canada their home. With multilingual website integration, your website can speak to the website visitor in their native tongue. Automatic translation will let your website visitors know that you care.

Integrating your website with the 40 most common languages is pretty straightforward. Contact us to see how we can help you reach more customers on a larger scale with multilingual website integration.

HTML Image Map

I know what you’re thinking, “What is an image map?” An image map is an image split up into “hot spots” with clickable actions. For example, if you have a floor plan of an office building with suites for rent, we can upload an image and convert it into an image map. Then on the floor plan image, a user can hover or click on the different suites, and it will trigger a popup with info or redirect them to another page. These are also called image hotspots or tooltips.

Use an image map for real estate sales, geographic locations, creative website navigation or showing the parts of a product.

Virtual Tour for Website

Photos and videos are great, but virtual tours take it to the next level, offering an immersive experience that makes your listings stand out. Whether you’re showcasing a home for sale, a rental property, a museum, a factory, or a business, virtual tours let visitors explore a space as if they were there in person.

This interactive experience will build trust, engagement and help potential customers visualize without stepping foot inside.

Web Accessibility

An effective website should work for everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility features like keyboard navigation, text-to-speech, high-contrast modes, and alt text for images help visitors navigate your site easily.

Not only does this make your website more inclusive, but it also improves user experience, boosts SEO, and keeps you compliant with accessibility standards. Plus, it shows your business cares about all its customers.

Parallax

Parallax Effect

Parallax is one of the unique web design elements introduced in 2011. It refers to when items in the foreground and background on a web page move and scale at different speeds from each other as the user scrolls the page. It presents a unique effect that gives the items depth and a three-dimensional look. Here are a few websites that we have designed with parallax effects.

Minimalist Web Design

Sometimes, simple has a greater impact. A minimalist website design communicates effectively and efficiently without much text or graphics. It’s about having the right content to get the point across and removing all other unnecessary elements. Though it’s not for everyone, a minimalist design must have continuity with the brand it is representing. If the product or service you offer is complex and requires a lot of information and education, a minimalist website may limit its effectiveness.

Sticky Navigation

When you are on a website and scroll down the page to view more content, isn’t it nice when you can still access the menu? A sticky header or navigation is excellent for improving the user experience on your website. With sticky navigation, the menu stays at the top of the page no matter how far you scroll down. The sticky navigation bar can have a coloured or transparent background and be programmed to appear after scrolling starts or when you’ve scrolled down a predetermined amount. We can also fix sticky headers to the screen’s left, right or bottom. Here are some of the websites we’ve built that have a sticky header.

Creative Website Design

Are you looking for a creative design that doesn’t look like every other website or graphic design out there? We get it; after all, we’re designers. We love to create fresh designs and have fun doing them.
Creative web designs aren’t for everyone or every business, but if you want a unique look, let us know. We can work with you to design a remarkable and creative website design that turns heads and gets attention!

Website Slider Design

The website slider; is a classic web design element that has evolved through time with different functions and improvements. We can change transition effects and timing and add text animations and layers. Have the slider feature videos, photos and even products from your online store. With a Ken Burns Effect, images can pan and zoom slightly to draw in the website visitor. Here are a few websites we’ve designed featuring sliders.

Business Directory

Business Directory Platform

Have an association or membership website? A business directory is a great way to benefit the members. It’s an excellent way for members to network, share business, and expand their reach. They can list their business, their business description, and contact information. The list can be displayed on the website to the general public or hidden for members only.

You could even use the directory to earn money for your association by offering enhanced listings. Members can enhance their listings by adding a company logo, social media links, and website links and listing their business in multiple categories.

Client Portal Login

A small business often requires uploading and exchanging files with clients. Unfortunately, with all the options and platforms available, there isn’t always an easy way for both parties to utilize the system without subscribing to additional software or apps.

A client portal built into your website can allow customers a place to upload files securely on one single platform. For example, customers can access an individual account, or you can provide a single password for all clients to access a password-protected area to upload files securely. There are client portal options available to fit virtually any small business need.

Membership Site Platforms

If you are in the consulting, coaching or club space, you may already have a community of people who follow and trust you. Why not nurture the group with a membership platform for them to connect with other like-minded individuals? Businesses can use a membership platform for sharing up-to-date news, articles and updates about their business and industry. Create different membership levels and provide valuable insider content to those who subscribe. Membership site platforms can be a source of recurring income or a great addition to keep people connected and empowered.

Shopping Cart

Shopping Cart Integration

A shopping cart integration for a website is a fantastic way for small businesses to reach a larger audience and earn more income. We don’t just build websites; we also build websites with online shopping. There are numerous options, features and integrations to help your business compete online. Connect your online store with accounting software, marketing automation, online advertising platforms and more. Learn more about online stores on our ecommerce website design page.

Accept Multiple Currencies

Now, more than ever, selling products to a global market is easy. With a multi-currency option on your ecommerce website, customers can purchase products from you in their native currency. People like to buy products made in their country, so the option to purchase in their currency can increase the conversion rate.

The currency selection can be selected automatically based on the customer’s geographic location. The customer also has the option to choose a different currency manually. Sell more products and remove the limits of geographic location and currency with multi-currency website integration. Contact us if you want to accept multiple currencies on your website.

Ecommerce Wholesale & Bulk Puchasing

When it comes to selling products online, moving products faster can be done by selling via wholesale or bulk. We can set up a wholesale platform to allow self-registration or manual registration. Set specific price levels and discounts by the customer, category, product, or sales volume.

Bulk purchasing can be set up based on quantity levels for the general public without registration. With bulk purchasing, the more customers buy, the more they save. Bulk pricing levels are adjustable and can be changed as the business sees fit.

Quoting Software

Eliminate the tedious exchange of emails involved in traditional product quotes. Optimize your lead generation process by incorporating an online quoting system that allows potential customers to effortlessly identify specific products and append them to a quote list. Comparable to an online store, customers can seamlessly submit their list along with their contact information, triggering an immediate email to the sales team for quoting. This not only streamlines the process but also minimizes the likelihood of missed opportunities arising from stalled leads. With the option to handpick their preferred options, customers can avoid the guesswork. Simplify your quoting process and lessen the risk of lost leads by integrating a quoting system on your website.

Custom Forms

WordPress Custom Form

A custom form on a website can gather information from potential customers. Sometimes more information is needed apart from a standard form. There are many custom options available to improve your website forms.

For example, we can add custom calculations to calculate numbers, an upload field for customers to add blueprints, resumes or files, payment integration, multi-step forms or even conditional logic for if/then scenarios.

We can also integrate your custom form with mass email software to build an email list for newsletter subscriptions or integrate a customer relationship management (CRM) platform to collect sales leads.

Newsletter Subscribe Form

Building an email list with a newsletter form on your website takes time, and its value increases as the size increases. Well, this is partially true. Having an email list for sending email newsletters is an excellent idea for a small business, but email lists are often under-utilized.

Customers and potential customers sign up for your email list because they want to hear from you. If you never send them an email or they only hear from you when you’re trying to sell them something, your email list will shrink. It’s all about being consistent and providing value. When you have the right combination, your list will grow, and sales will increase.

Custom Calculator for Websites

A custom calculator adds real value to your website by helping customers make quick, informed decisions. Whether it’s a flooring store offering a square footage calculator, a real estate website with a mortgage calculator, or a landscaping business helping users estimate how much sod they need—the possibilities are endless.

These tools improve user experience, enhance engagement, increase conversions, and reduce customer inquiries by offering instant, accurate calculations. They can also help pre-qualify customers who may be kicking tires.

We’ve built some awesome custom calculators for our clients—let’s create one that fits your business needs!

Blog

Blog Platform

A blog platform used to be where writers put their ideas online. Through time, blog platforms became adopted by small businesses as a way to provide news and updates for customers. A company blog is a great way to build a relationship with your customers and potential customers, share your insights and experience, and discuss relevant things to your industry.

Some business owners use blogs to help their website rank higher in search results. This tactic can work, but you may be wasting time by writing only 300 words on a topic. The posts that rank the best online have between 1500 – 2000 words, written on well-researched topics people search online. Consider writing one well-written post over four quickly-written posts per month.

IDX Website for Realtors

If you’re a real estate agent, you can have the same IDX listings on your website as are on the realtor.ca website. We are experienced in integrating listings on real estate websites. So whether you work in a specific real estate niche, like farms and acreages or all listings, we can help you reach buyers.

This generation of home buyers is researching online before making a phone call to an agent. They have access to photos, videos, virtual tours and almost all the same information as agents. If potential buyers find what they are looking for on your website, who do you think they will call?

With an IDX website for Realtors, you can reach potential buyers with IDX listings that are search engine optimized! Here are a few websites that we’ve built with synced IDX listings.

Job Listing Platform

They say “Good help is hard to find”, and though it may seem that way, it doesn’t have to be. Don’t just rely on paid job postings on national job boards, get a job board on your company website. By posting on your website, with Google Schema mark-up, Google will index your job listings automatically! Google indexes paid and free listings from websites that are properly configured to be indexed. So, if someone is searching on Google for a specific job in your industry, your listing will be among other job listings for FREE. It’s a great way to reach more qualified talent without being a drain on your bank account.

CRM Integration

Make your CRM software work even harder for your business. Integrating it with your website ensures that every lead, inquiry, and sale flows directly into your system. No more errors from manual entry and no missed opportunities.

Automatically capture leads, track customer interactions, and streamline follow-ups, all while keeping your sales pipeline organized. Nowadays, most CRM softwares can integrate with websites

Let’s connect your website to your CRM and simplify your lead and sales management!

Events Calendar for Websites

Whether you are in the entertainment industry, own a restaurant or are the leader of a group or church, having an events calendar for your website is a great way to showcase your upcoming events, increase attendance and generate interest.

Websites with availability calendars can help you book more sales appointments by showing your available meeting times. Show your weekly specials at your restaurant or café. Show your upcoming community events or club events and help keep members connected. You can even get a third-party calendar, like Google Calendar, embedded on your website and have it sync automatically.

Online Booking System

Having a phone number or contact form on your website is a must, but if you want to convert more customers more often, consider online booking. A platform that provides online booking can reach customers when they are ready to buy. A contact form or phone number only works during business hours. You never know when a customer may be considering your products and services.

Want to convert more online bookings? If they are booking a paid service, have them pay a deposit; this will weed out those who are serious from those who are just kicking tires. You’ll find fewer appointment drop-offs when someone has committed with their wallet. Online booking works great for service-based industries like health and beauty, plumbing, lawn care, consulting and more, whether in person or virtual! We can set up your online booking system or integrate a third-party platform. Contact us for details.

Multiple Locations Map

A custom map integration is a great way for customers to visualize the markets your business serves. Whether you have multiple business locations or retailers who carry your products across the country, you can showcase the business location on a map with pinpoints. Display more information about the business like hours of operation, contact information, website and a photo of the front of the building. There are a lot of options when it comes to mapping integration for a website. Contact us to integrate a custom map solution for your business.
