Marketing meat products is challenging for local butcher shops when competing with big grocery chains with national distribution. To compete, Smokehaus Meats knew that they needed an edge. Finding some success marketing on social media, Smokehaus Meats' owner knew he needed a website to showcase his products. That's when he reached out to Zeal Media.
We designed a simple website with a large front-page slider to showcase his meat products, a social media feed to show the latest Facebook posts and product specials, and pages with information about his meat cutting services.
In March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, the owner decided to add an online store to his website to keep sales coming in. We created an ecommerce platform and added 40+ products to get him started. At that time, we also improved the website's SEO (search engine optimization), so the website would rank higher on Google. Then, when online ordering became available, the orders started flooding in.
The Smokehaus website consistently gets over 75% of its website traffic from search engines. The 12 months following the addition of the online store, there was and remains an increase of over 200% in online traffic.
