A Little Gratitude Goes a Long Way

Show the Love

When I co-owned Canadian Security Solutions with my father, we came up with a great idea to say “thanks” to new clients for choosing our company, a local business, to protect their families and possessions.

We designed a “Thank-you Card,” and at the end of every month, we would mail it out to all the new clients we had for the month. We would even have the company’s president (my father) sign the cards in blue ink to make it more personal. It turned out to be well-received by clients. We also used it as an opportunity to give them a coupon or inform them about our referral program. We were never short of marketing ideas.

A gesture of thanks will go a long way to encourage loyalty among your customers and generate word-of-mouth referrals.

A simple “Thank you” to a client is a grand gesture, but to make it even more effective, try including something for the client like a discount coupon, a magnet or even a company pen. Of course, what you decide must be customized to fit your business model. Make necessary adjustments and find out what works best! A successful business owner will always be thinking about growth and marketing their business. Remember, customers are the reason you have a business in the first place.
