When I co-owned Canadian Security Solutions with my father, we came up with a great idea to say “thanks” to new clients for choosing our company, a local business, to protect their family and possessions. We designed a “Thank-you Card” and at the end of every month we would mail it out to all the new clients we had for the month. We would even have the president of the company (my father) sign the cards in blue ink to make it more personal. It turned out to be well-received by clients. We also used it as an opportunity to give them a coupon or inform them about our referral program. We never ran short of marketing ideas.
A gesture of thanks will go a long way to encourage loyalty among your customers and word of mouth referrals.
A simple “Thank you” to a client is a great gesture, but to make it even more effective, try including something for the client like a discount coupon, a magnet or even a company pen. What you decide must be customized to fit your business model. Make necessary adjustments and find out what works best!
